Humming to the Punjabi song playing on the radio, Ranbir Singh Randhawa was on his way back to his Haveli. He had just concluded a meeting with his a fellow businessman, and to say it went good was a safe statement.

Mansion

Not that he would have expected anything else either. He was one of the most feared and respected man in the whole of Punjab and belonging to an influential family like the Randhawas, you wouldn't expect anything less, but a ferocious and manly personality from him. All the powerful men of the society, including the police were on his payroll.

He was the owner of several public spaces in the town and was also an investor in multiple businessmen's companies resulting in immense wealth and power. He was a hotheaded politician, and a super successful businessman.

Since it was around 2:30 AM, he was driving his dear G-Wagon himself. The man was obsessed with cars to say the least. He had a Volvo XC-90, a Lamborghini Urus, a Porsche Cayenne, a Maybach S-Class and many more. His collection of cars could make any billionaire jealous of him within minutes.

He didn't realise when a black shadow appeared on the crossroad that he was currently on, and he pressed the brakes as soon as he could. His eyes widened in surprise, and he immediately got out of his car. He heard a feminine groan as he approached the figure that was currently sitting on the road in front of his car.

"Dekh kar road nahi cross kar sakti ladki?" He asked in an annoyed voice but the only answer he got was a sob that escaped the girl's mouth.

Can't you look before crossing the road, girl?

The girl carefully got up and stood at her place, still wincing from the impact of the car. Her previously scraped knees were now bleeding badly and her forehead had a minor cut as well.

Who was this girl? What was she doing here at this time? Is she here with someone? What if she's alone? It certainly wasn't safe for women to roam around alone on the street at 2:30 in the morning.

His chain of thoughts came to a pause when he heard her melodious voice again.

"Aap gaadi thodi dheere se bhi to chala sakte the na." She replied softly, still looking down. Her voice was low due to her fear and crying.

You could've been a little slower as well.

Her soft voice succeeded in calming his thunder like anger down in a couple of seconds. The man was confuse to say the least.

"Accha matlab meri galti hai?" He questioned her but his previous harsh voice was now way more soft and dare she think, teasing.

Oh so it's all my fault.

Ranbir was wearing a smirk on his face at the answer she provided. Not only did she end up getting hurt at her antiques, she's also blaming it on him. She mustn't know who he was.

Ranbir is infamous in the city for his rough driving and especially when he's driving alone at night, he tends to be a little reckless.

"Ji." She meekly replied as she wiped her tears away. He pulled a handkerchief from his pocket and handed it to her. She hesitantly grabbed it and wiped her tears away.

Yes.

He walked to his car with a small smirk on his face and fished out a bottle of water. He walked back to where he was standing previously and handed her the bottle. He still couldn't look at her face due to her dupatta.

He couldn't understand why he was being so good to a stranger. He was enchanted by the girl in front of him. There was a certain allure about her and it was as if she was a magnet, pulling him towards herself.

"Kya mai jaan sakta hu ke itni raat gaye yahan is tarah kya kar rahi thi tum?" He asked. His questions dies down in his throat as he got a glimpse of her face.

May I know what are you doing here at this hour?

She had tilted her head upwards to have a sip of the water offered to her. The dupatta slid down her head and now her angelic face was clearly visible to him.

Milky white skin, perfectly filled cheeks, a button nose, chestnut brown hair, sharp eyebrows, baby-like pink lips and the most beautiful pair of brown eyes he had ever seen.

"Shukriya," She said as she met eyes with the man once she was done emptying half of the bottle. She couldn't believe how incredibly handsome the man standing in front of him was.

Thank you.

Tall frame, broad shoulders, muscular arms, perfectly shaped face, sharp jawline, thick eyebrows and the most expressive pair of eyes she had ever seen. He was dressed in a dark green kurta, the shade was kind of similar to what she was wearing currently.

A small smile unknowingly formed on her lips.

"Ghar se bhaag kar aayi ho?" His next question dropped the glad look on her face in an instance.

You've ran away from your house?

"Na-nahi. Aisa kuch nahi hai." She tried denying his accusation but the fear inside of her betrayed her confidence, reflecting in her voice.

N-no. Nothing like that.

She wasn't sure whether this man is safe or not. She couldn't tell him anything, let alone trust him with this.

What if he drags her back to her father? She was sure his face would skin her alive if he gets to know she tried running away from him. He'd get her married to that demon the very next day if he finds out what she did.

"Mai juth yun pakad leta hu." Ranbir said as he snapped his finger.

I catch lies in an instance.

Harleen looked in his eyes, her own filled with fear. Her timid posture and trembling hands were all the proof Ranbir needed to conclude that she had indeed ran away from her place.
